Types of Dental Fillings We Offer

1. Amalgam Fillings
Amalgam fillings are a traditional and durable solution made from a blend of metals, including mercury, silver, and tin. They are known for their strength and longevity, often used in back teeth where durability is crucial. However, due to concerns about mercury, these fillings are used less frequently today.

2.Composite Fillings
Composite fillings are tooth-colored and offer a more natural look. They are made from a mixture of plastic and fine glass particles and are ideal for cavities in visible areas. These fillings are versatile, as they can also be used for smile enhancements, reshaping teeth, or adjusting their color. At Aesthetic Advance Dental Clinic, we also use the U-Veneer system with composite resins for customized aesthetic restorations.

What to Expect from a Cavity Filling Procedure at Aesthetic Advance Dental Clinic

When you visit Aesthetic Advance Dental Clinic for a cavity filling, you can expect a thorough, gentle, and precise treatment. Our skilled dentists use advanced techniques to ensure your procedure is as comfortable and effective as possible. Here’s what you can expect during and after the filling:

During the Cavity Filling Procedure

  1. Decay Removal: Your dentist will gently remove all the decayed portions of the tooth using a drill or laser, carefully preserving healthy tooth structure.
  2. Preparation for Filling: Once the decay is removed, the dentist will shape the cavity to properly fit the filling.
  3. Protecting the Nerves: If necessary, a protective base or liner is placed to shield the nerves and pulp of the tooth.
  4. Filling and Polishing: The filling material is then applied, and your dentist will use specialized burs to finish and polish the tooth, ensuring a smooth, natural-looking surface.

After the Cavity Filling Procedure

After your filling is placed, you may experience some mild symptoms as the anesthetic wears off. These may include

  • Pressure Sensitivity: You may feel sensitivity to pressure, cold air, liquids, or sweet foods.
  • Temporary Numbness or Tingling: Mild numbness or tingling around the injection site is common in some patients.
